Mangrove forests a habitat for fish to breed and grow, providing numerous benefits such as conserving flora and fauna, sequestering carbon, and supporting human socio-economic activities. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the variations in fish species associated with different types of mangrove vegetation in the Batu Ampar Village region, Kubu Raya, West Kalimantan. The experiment was conducted in November 2023 at three observation stations according to the types of mangrove forest dominants, specifically Rhizophora stylosa Griff., Nypa fruticans Wurmb: vegetation, and their combination. Fish samples were collected using purposive sampling. A range of fishing gear was used for this process, such as nets, longlines or rods, ancau gear, and trawls. The results showed that the type of mangrove forest vegetation influenced the species of fish found. A total of twenty-eight fish species were identified; Stations I, II, and III contained 11, 13, and 15 species each, respectively. A total of three fish species were found in three observation locations, namely Setipinna melanochir Bleeker, Paratherina wolterecki Aurich, Arius maculatusThunberg, Leiognathus equula Forsskål, and Zenarchopterus buffonis Valenciennes. There were two species of fish with high market value, namely Pomadasys argenteus Forsskål and Sphyraena barracuda Edwards, as well as Xenopterus naritus Richardson, which had ornamental value. The muddy environmental factors and salinity levels led to an increase in the number of fish found. Stations I and III exhibit muddy characteristics, with 80 and 62 fish, respectively.
