Tangkasi (Tarsius spectrumgurskyae) is an endemic primate of Sulawesi, which is spread in the Tangkoko area, North Sulawesi. This study aims to determine the distribution and diversity of tangkasi nest tree species in the Tangkoko KPHK area, as well as to present the first data related to the spatial distribution pattern of tangkasi nests. The method used was a direct observation by census, with a systematic quadrant method (quadrant blocks measuring 100 m x 100 m, as many as 121 blocks in a location of 121 ha). Data analysis used descriptive statistics and ecological indices, including the Shannon-Wiener diversity index, Pielou's evenness index, and Morisita distribution index. This study found 57 nests consisting of 84 vegetation (excluding lianas), with 18 main tree species. Tangkasi nests in KPHK Tangkoko have moderate species diversity (H’=2.22), high nest species evenness (E=0.77), moderate nest species richness (R=3.84), and low nest species dominance (C=0.16). Based on the Morisita distribution index, the spatial distribution pattern of tangkasi nests is random (Id=0.97; Ip=0.00). These findings can be used as a basis for managing conservation areas and conservation strategies for tangkasi, especially in the preservation of lianas and hollow trees which are often overlooked in conservation planningReferensi
