Karakteristik Biofisik Sarang Trenggiling (Manis javanica Desmarest, 1822) pada Beberapa Lokasi Penelitian di Taman Nasional Gunung Halimun Salak

Trenggiling (Manis javanica Desmarest, 1822) merupakan mamalia bersisik yang dilindungi yang populasinya semakin berkurang akibat perburuan dan perdagangan liar. Selain itu, data dan informasi tentang karakteristik biofisik sarang di alam masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis karakteristik biofisik sarang trenggiling di habitat aslinya. Penelitian karakteristik sarang menggunakan metode transek garis dan pengamatan komposisi vegetasi menggunakan Metode Point Centered Quarter, serta dilakukan uji Chi-square untuk melihat hubungan antara komponen karakteristik biofisik sarang dengan dimensi sarang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat 31 sarang di Cikaniki dan 19 sarang di Gunung Kendeng. Karakteristik vegetasi di kedua lokasi penelitian pada sebagian besar sarang (54%) berada di dalam tanah dengan vegetasi yang memiliki tajuk rapat dan sedang. Sarang trenggiling di Cikaniki lebih banyak ditemukan di hutan sekunder tua, sedangkan di Gunung Kendeng lebih banyak ditemukan di hutan sekunder dan dekat dengan kebun/lahan pertanian. Komponen karakteristik biofisik dibagi menjadi kelas kemiringan, kelas ketinggian, jumlah hewan mangsa dan jarak aktivitas manusia. Di antara keempat komponen tersebut, hanya jarak dari aktivitas manusia, terutama jarak dari sarang ke sawah (p-value 0,043) dan jalan (p-value 0,011), yang memiliki hubungan signifikan dengan dimensi sarang. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa trenggiling dapat hidup di beberapa tipe habitat tanpa memiliki ciri khusus.Referensi
